Obtaining A Legal Aid Certificate

To obtain a Legal Aid Certificate allowing you to hire a lawyer contact:

You can visit a Legal Aid Assessment Officer at the Lindsay Courthouse, 440 Kent St. W. The office is located beside courtroom #2 and an Officer will be present on criminal first appearance and youth court days.

The Lawyer Referral Service will assist you in finding a lawyer who can provide you with a free 30 minute consultation.

Family Law Information Centre (FLIC)

The Family Law Information Centre will provide free information about divorce, separation and related family law issues (child custody, access, support, property division and child protection) and referrals to community resources. It is located at the Lindsay Courthouse, 440 Kent St. W, beside courtroom #5. You may want to call in advance to confirm office hours, 705-324-1413.
